Ms. Marla Sherman Dumas <br />September 16, 1999 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />MEDICAL AND DENTAL INSURANCE: <br />The City shall provide medical and dental coverage in the amount provided fnr all <br />department hads together with life insurance policy equal to the salary amount. <br />Medical and dental coverage shall be effective as of hire date or City will pay <br />COBRA until effective date. <br />VACATIONS, SICK LEAVE, AND HOLIDAYS: <br />The Director shall be entiticd to three (3) weeks vacation of which one (1) v.eek <br />can be converted to cash allowance. In addition, the Director shall be entitled to <br />twelve (12) days sick leave, five (5) of which may be converted to cash. The <br />Director shall be entitled to such holidays as may be provided for all City <br />employees. <br />PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: <br />Subject to City policy, the City shall agree to pay reasonable professional dues <br />and subscriptions necessary for the continuation of the education of the Director <br />and, specifically, shall pay for the Urban Land Institute Certification Program, <br />including tuition and expenses to complete the program. <br />TERMINATION: <br />In the event you are asked to leave the City for reasons other than "cause" <br />(defined as, an act of fraud, dishonesty or conviction of any criminal act, except <br />for minor traffic violations), the City will pay severance pay in an amount no less <br />than three (3) month salary, plus pay ;r.y. accrued vacati.on. benefits (up to 300 <br />hours) and any unused sick time benefits (up to 300 hours). <br />In the event of voluntary resignation, there will be no three months severance pay, <br />but the vacation and sick time payments will remain. <br />If the foregoing accurately represents your agreed upon negotiations with the <br />Manager, please indicate so by executing the acknowledgement set forth below. <br />Finally, on behalf of the City, we wish to express our excitement at the prospect <br />of welcoming you on board as the Director of Community Planning and <br />3 <br />
