Budget Narrative - For each budget category, Le., Sworn Employees, Other Employees, OffICe Operations, etc., <br />specifICaUy describe how the costs for staff, equipment, materials, services, and supplies listed in the budget categories were <br />determined, and how the items wiU be used to meet grant objectives. Provide justifICation for large or unusual costs or for costs <br />that are normaUy disallowed. Attach additional pages as needed. <br /> <br />Sworn Personnel: <br />The expenditures for the sworn personnel will cover the individual officer's salaries plus 30% benefits. <br />The personnel will include: <br />· A Lieutenant Supervisor for the project to be paid $28.01 per hour <br />· A Community Policing Officer whose main role will be to raise community awareness with the <br />methods of dealing with and preventing vehicle theft to be paid $18.12 per hour . <br />· Three Motor Officers whose daily role is to handle traffic details including: <br />a. A Corporal paid at $20.91 per hour <br />b. An Officer paid at $18.21 per hour <br />c. An Officer paid at $18.12 per hour <br />· An Detective to be assigned to an Auto Theft Unit in the Detective Bureau paid at $19.81 per hour <br />· The monies will also allow the Department to assign personnel to the Multi-Agency Auto Theft Task <br />Force, <br /> <br />Other Employees: <br />The monies funded through the grant will allow the Department to hire a Crime Analyst person, paid at <br />$14,84 per hour and 30% benefits, to detail crime activities throughout the City. Approximately 50% of the <br />Analyst's work effort will be projected toward Auto Theft Initiatives. <br /> <br />Office Operations: <br />With the grant funding the Department will: <br />· Purchase two computers; 1) for use by the Crime Analyst person to log, analyze, and categorize <br />crimes throughout the City. 2) The Department will dedicate one computer for the purpose of <br />implementing a VIN-etching program, and producing Community Policing pamphlets and materials, <br />at a complete cost of $2790.00. <br /> <br />MVOl (rev. 01/96) <br /> <br />8 <br />
