<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000- A.~ ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO ZABATT, INC., IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $17,375.00, FOR THE PURCHASE AND <br />INSTALLATION OF AN EMERGENCY GENERATOR FOR <br />THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND CITY HALL; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, <br />EXECUTE AND DO ALL OTHER THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE A CONTRACT; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is a coastal area subject to catastrophic weather <br />and other conditions that can render it without electricity; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the purchase and installation of a generator will provide emergency electrical <br />power to the City's Police Department and administrative offices during weather emergencies and as <br />such the City would be in compliance with State and Federal regulations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has evaluated the bids received and recommends that the bid be awarded <br />to Zabatt, Inc.; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Award of Bid. Zabatt, Inc. is hereby awarded a bid for the purchase and installation <br />of an emergency generator. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager and/or his designee are hereby <br />authorized to negotiate and execute a contract, in an amount not to exceed Seventeen Thousand <br />Three Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($17,375.00), for the purchase and installation of an emergency <br />generator for the Police Department and City Hall administrative offices, provided the contract is <br />approved as to form and legal sufficiency by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
