<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH APPROVING RECEIPT OF GRANT <br />FUNDS BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH FROM THE MIAMI-DADE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN <br />SERVICES FEDERAL DRUG CONTROL AND SYSTEM <br />IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,352.00, <br />REPRESENTING A 75% ($7,014.00) GRANT AWARD AND 25% <br />($2,338.00) IN CITY MATCHING FUNDS; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY WITH <br />RESPECT TO THE OBTAINING AND DISTRIBUTION OF <br />GRANT MONIES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 14, 1999, the City Commission authorized the City <br />Manager to apply for, receive and expend $9,352.00 in grant monies available through <br />the Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program from the Miami-Dade <br />Department of Human Services for the purpose of creating a Business Security Program; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal funds are again available to the City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />from the Miami-Dade Department of Human Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has received <br />preliminary approval for said funds, which can be utilized for the purchase of an electric <br />cart for Community Policing/Crime Prevention activities. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Contract. The contract, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", by <br />and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Miami-Dade Department of Human <br />Services Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program in the amount of <br />$9,352.00, representing a 75% ($7,014.00) grant award and 25% ($2,338.00) in City <br />matching funds, be, and the same, is hereby approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization to the City Manager. The Mayor/City Manager shall <br />execute said contract and the City Manager and/or his designee are hereby authorized to <br />take any and all action necessary with respect to the obtaining and distribution of grant <br />monies as appropriate without further approval of the City Commission. <br /> <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
