<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000- Actio <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE RECOMMENDATION OF <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO WAIVE THE FORMAL COMPETITIVE <br />BIDDING PROCEDURES OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH ORDINANCE NO. <br />2000-101 FOR THE PREPARATION AND LANDSCAPING OF THE <br />COLLINS AVENUE MEDIANS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO EXPEND AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000, <br />AND TO DO ANY ALL OTHER THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br />TIMELY COMPELETION OF SAID PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2000-231, the City Commission authorized the City <br />Manager to commence an interim landscaping project for the medians on Collins Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to <br />waive its formal competitive procedures due to time constraints and the urgent nature of the Collins <br />Avenue median landscaping project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that there is a need for additional funding for <br />the project and requests permission to expend additional funds to complete the project. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Waiver of Competitive Bidding Requirements. The Competitive Bidding <br />Requirements of Sunny Isles Beach Ordinance No. 200-101 be, and the same is hereby waived for <br />the preparation and landscaping of the Collins Avenue medians. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager andlor his designee are hereby <br />authorized to expend an additional amount, not to exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />($100,000), for the completion of the landscaping of the Collins Avenue medians. <br /> <br />Section 3. Further Authorization of City Manager. Provided the City Attorney approves all <br />contracts as to form and legal sufficiency, the City Manager is further authorized to execute said <br />contracts and to do all other things necessary to effectuate the completion of the project. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
