<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 3D~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING RESOLUTION NO. <br />00-46 OF THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD; URGING <br />THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO MAINTAIN AND CONTINUE <br />APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE DUAL DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR <br />POSTSECONDARY, ADULT, AND VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS <br />UNDER THEIR CURRENT STRUCTURE; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, that the City of Sunny Isles Beach supports the Miami-Dade County School <br />Board in their efforts to set a high priority on collaborating with public and private agencies to <br />implement creative workforce economic development programs in support of industry and <br />business sectors that provide high-skill/high-wage occupational opportunities; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach recognizes that the Miami-Dade County <br />School Board has a track record of implementing such programs in cooperation and <br />collaboration with Miami-Dade Community College, so as to meet the diverse needs of our <br />community by utilizing the combined resources of both educational systems; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach adopts the reasons and conclusions of <br />Resolution No. 00-46 of the Miami-Dade County School Board. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach supports Resolution No. 00- <br />46 of the Miami-Dade County School Board and expresses unequivocal support for <br />the continued appropriations for all currently authorized postsecondary, adult, and <br />vocational programs. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach urges the Florida <br />Legislature to maintain the current dual delivery system by continuing <br />appropriation for postsecondary, adult, and vocational programs to be conducted by <br />the Miami-Dade County Public School System. <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the Governor, <br />the City's Legislators and the Miami-Dade County School Board. . <br /> <br />Section 4.
