The Spring thru Fall application rates for lawn areas will vary according <br />to weather and environmental conditions, but typically average 75 <br />granular pounds per 1000 sq. ft. <br />F. For control of fire ants, use Award Fire Ant Killer. Follow manufacturer's <br />instructions for application amounts and methods. <br />B. Palms (except Phoenix Dactilifera and Phoenix Canariensis Date Palms) <br />1. Apply four applications per year (at quarterly intervals) of liquid 16-4-8 <br />with micro -nutrients and granular 13-3-13 with micro -nutrients. <br />2. The time of the applications will coincide with the lawn applications. <br />3. The liquid and granular applications will alternate throughout the year (2 <br />applications of liquid and 2 of granular). <br />4. Supplemental Manganese Sulfate and Sul-po-mag may be required to <br />correct nutrient deficiency. <br />5. Between January 1 and February 1 apply Merit root drench to all Royal <br />Palms (follow manufacturer's instructions for application rate). <br />C. Trees <br />Three applications per year of 13-3-13 granular fertilizer. <br />D. Shrubs and Groundcover <br />1. Four applications per year (each three months). Flowering shrubs are to <br />receive applications of granular 8-10-10 SCU with micro -nutrients <br />supplemented with liquid 16-4-8 with micro -nutrients. Non -flowering <br />shrubs are to receive applications of granular and liquid 16-4-8 with <br />micro -nutrients. <br />2. Due to lack of above -ground irrigation, the Collins Avenue Median plant <br />material is to receive four applications per year (each three months) of <br />liquid 16-4-8 with micro -nutrients (no granular fertilizer is to be used). <br />
