<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO APPLY FOR, RECEIVE AND EXPEND GRANT <br />FUNDS BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH AND THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF <br />HUMAN SERVICES FEDERAL DRUG CONTROL AND SYSTEM <br />IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,615.00, <br />REPRESENTING A 75% ($4,211.00) GRANT AWARD AND 25% <br />($1,404.00) IN CITY MATCHING FUNDS; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given <br />preliminary approval for the City Manager to apply for, receive and expend $5,615.00 in <br />grant monies available through the Federal Dmg Control and System Improvement <br />Program from the Miami-Dade Department of Human Services in order to purchase a <br />display board and mini paper shredders for Community Police and Crime Prevention <br />Activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal funds are again available to the City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />from the Miami-Dade Department of Human Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has received <br />preliminary approval for said funds, totaling $5,615.00 representing a 75% ($4,211.00) <br />grant award and 25% ($1,404.00) in City matching funds, which can be utilized for the <br />purchase of a display board and mini paper shredders for Community Police and Crime <br />Prevention Activities. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Commission hereby <br />authorizes the City Manager to apply for, receive and expend grant funds, attached hereto <br />as Exhibit "A", by and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Miami-Dade <br />Department of Human Services Federal Dmg Control and System Improvement Program <br />in the amount of $5,615.00, representing a 75% ($4,211.00) grant award and 25% <br />($1,404.00) in City matching funds; and to do all things necessary to effectuate this <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br />adoption. <br /> <br />Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> <br />R2001- Federal Drug Control Grant 2001 <br />
