<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002- .., , I <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />EXECUTE AN APPLICATION FOR ELIGIBILITY TO RECEIVE <br />FEDERAL SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES, BUREAU OF <br />FEDERAL PROPERTY ASSISTANCE; PROVIDING THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT THE AUTHORITY TO REQUEST FROM THE <br />UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES, <br />AND TO RECEIVE AS A DONATION A 1983 27-FOOT "FOUNTAIN" <br />CENTER CONSOLE BOAT WITH TWIN MERCURY 200 HP <br />OUTBOARD MOTORS AND DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a very active and efficient Police <br />Department that is seeking to protect the health, safety and welfare of its residents and visitors; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Management Services, Bureau of Federal <br />Property Assistance, has a program that will allow the City of Sunny Isles Beach to request <br />ownership of surplus Federal property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department's Marine Patrol Unit is <br />currently utilizing a 1983 27-foot "Fountain" Center Console Boat with Twin Mercury 200 HP <br />Outboard Motors on loan from the U.S. Department of Customs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, any property to be liquidated or donated through the GSA of the <br />Department of Management Services must have a signed contractual agreement between the <br />Bureau and the receiving agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, entering into such an agreement will allow the City to request ownership of <br />the 1983 27-foot "Fountain" Center Console Boat with Twin Mercury 200 HP Outboard Motors. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of the Mayor. The Mayor is hereby ~uthorized to execute the <br />Application for Eligibility to Receive Federal Surplus Property with the Department of <br />Management Services, Bureau of Federal Property Assistance. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization ofthe Police Department. The City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />Police Department is hereby authorized to request from the United States Department of <br />Management Services, and to receive as a donation a 1983 27-foot "Fountain" Center Console <br />Boat with Twin Mercury 200 HP Outboard Motors. <br /> <br />R2002- Application for Surplus Property <br /> <br />1 <br />
