Dannheisser, City Attorney <br />Richard Brown - Morilla, City Clerk <br />RE: ACCEPTANCE OF RANKING OF CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT FIRMS <br />AND AUTHORIZATION TO NEGOTIATE CONTRACT WITH SAME <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approving the ranking of <br />construction management firms, and providing the City Manager with the authority to negotiate a <br />contract with the number one ranked firm, and should those negotiations fail, with the number two <br />and three ranked firms, respectively. <br />REASONS <br />The City is in need of construction management services for the building of a City Hall and <br />accessory structure(s) related to the City Hall. Therefore, the City issued and advertised Request for <br />Qualifications #01- 12 -02. Four (4) construction management firms submitted qualifications for <br />consideration. Those four (4) firms were invited to make presentations before the Construction <br />Management Selection Committee, which was comprised of the City Manager, the Building Official, <br />the Zoning & Planning Director, and the architect for the City. The top three firms, as ranked by the <br />Committee, are as follows: <br />(1) The Weitz Company, Inc. <br />(2) James A. Cummings, Inc. <br />(3) Grace & Naeem Uddin, Inc. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br />Upon approval of the attached resolution, we will begin contract negotiations for the provision of <br />construction management services.
