These funds are <br />pennissible by law to be spent for purchases of police equipment and other law <br />erforcement activities. It is requested that we be permitted to utilize $298,850.00 of <br />said funds on deposit for such purposes. <br /> <br />Reasons: <br /> <br />One of the benefits of participating in and providing personnel into high intensity <br />narcotics investigations is the sharing of confiscated proceeds for the'enhancement <br />of law enforcement related activities. The utilization of the Consulting Firm of Carol! <br />. Buracker & Associates, Inc. to address local and national security concerns, both <br />now and futuristically is deemed necessary and effective. <br /> <br />Additional Information: <br /> <br />Those areas targeted for consultCltion and review include: Police Department Master <br />Plan, Police Policy Manual, Disaster Response Plan and Technical Assistance and <br />Direction related to CALEAStandards. To date the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police <br />. Department has been awarded additional monies in confiscated funds.
