Dannheisser, City Attorney
Jane A. Hines, Acting City Clerk
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution supporting the City's
participation in the National Flood Insurance Program.
REASONS:
The City Commission had previously adopted Ordinance No. 2001 -142 on November 13, 2001,
amending the "Flood Damage Prevention" Ordinance adopted in 1999, to update it in
conformance with FEMA requirements for the benefit, health, welfare and safety of our
residents. At that time we did not pass the enclosed resolution stating the City's intent to
continue participation.
Although a technical matter, it has become important since it is one of the requirements of our
grant application process to apply for FEMA funding for the Central Island Stormwater Project.
The deadline for submission of this resolution is February 15, 2003.
Respectfully submitted,
e%
Christopher J.
