City Attorney <br />Jane Hines, Acting City Clerk <br />It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution ranking the firm of Calvin, <br />Giordano and Associates, Inc. as the City's sole General Municipal Contract Services consultant. <br />REASONS <br />The City is in need of General Municipal Contract Services, which may consist of Planning and Zoning <br />activities, engineering, traffic engineering, landscape architecture, geographic information systems and <br />capital improvement program management, for various projects to be undertaken at the present and in the <br />future. As such, we solicited prospective consultants through the issuance and advertisement of Request <br />for Qualifications No. 02- 11 -01. Sealed RFQ's were opened on 12/20/02, with Calvin, Giordano and <br />Associates, Inc. being the sole respondee. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br />Though we only received one response, we have the authority to qualify that respondent. Section 9.4 of <br />Request for Qualifications No. 02- 11 -01, states that the City Manager reserves the right to negotiate with <br />a sole bidder if he /she deems it to be in the best interest of the City; however, the City Manager must <br />document the reasons for such action. Calvin, Giordano and Associates, Inc. is highly qualified to <br />perform the above tasks and has undertaken several projects for the City currently and in the past, all with <br />favorable results. They have continued to be professional and responsive to the needs of the City. <br />Therefore, it is recommended that we qualify Calvin, Giordano and Associates, Inc. <br />Upon approval of the attached resolution, we will begin contracting with Calvin, Giordano and <br />Associates, Inc. for various projects.
