Hines, Acting City Clerk' Staff recommends approval of the contract award to Professional Welding, Inc., in the amount of S49,628.00 for the construction and installation of the fencing and gates for the overflow parking area for the Golden Strand adjoining the site of the proposed City Hall. REASONS The City of Sunny Isles Beach agreed to construct a fence for the overflow parking for the Golden Strand development and move the access to Atlantic Boulevard, in return to Golden Strand released an access easement that ran through the middle of the location for the new Tony Roma's Restaurant. It was decided that a decorative cast aluminum fence would compliment the overall design of the proposed City Hall complex versus a plain chain link. A request for bids was advertised and on January 24, 2003 there was a bid opening to which four (4) companies submitted bids. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder that met all the requirements and specification.of the bid was selected. The company, Professional Welding, Inc., of 675 N.W. 5d' Street, Miami, Florida 33128, meet all the qualifications in the bid documents. Additionally, this company has already performed another job within the City. Therefore, we recommend that you award the contract to Professional Welding, Inc., that was successfully completed.
