Dannheisser, City Attorney Jane Hines,Acting City Clerk ESTABLISHING AN AMNESTY PERIOD REFRAINING FROM THE ENFORCEMENT OF SECTION 9015(9) OF THE CITY LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS AS ADOPTED RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Commission adopt, by motion the attached resolution granting a six- month amnesty period, temporarily waiving section 901.5(9) of The City Land Development Regulations for our local business community. REASONS The Statewide Tourism Industry has been ailing since the September 11th, 2001 tragedies, negatively impacting our local economy. The Office of the City Manager, Zoning Department, and the Code Enforcement and Licensing Department wish to aid our local businesses by allowing additional advertising opportunities. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION As you may recall the City Commission initially granted a four -month amnesty for the same issue under Resolution number 2002 -475. The current amnesty period will not exceed six- months beginning upon the adoption of this resolution and expiring on July 3Pt, 2003. Additionally, the City retains its right to continue to enforce all other applicable codes and to review and approve any such banner signs prior to their placement on any building. Agenda Item Date
