<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 523 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF <br />HISTORICAL ARTIFACT OF "HORSES AND CARRIAGE" FROM THE <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH CIVIC, CULTURAL AND BEAUTIFICATION <br />TRUST, INC., FOR THE SENATOR GWEN MARGOLIS PARK, LOCATED <br />AT 178TH DRIVE AND NORTH BAY ROAD; PROVIDING THE CITY <br />MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY <br />TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in the process of enhancing its Parks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Civic, Cultural and Beautification Trust, Inc. <br />presented the City with an historical artifact of "Horses and Carriage", donated to the Trust by <br />the Dezer family, for placement in the southeast comer of the Senator Gwen Margolis Park, <br />located at 178th Drive and North Bay Road, or such other location as may be deemed appropriate <br />by the City Manager, with a 40" fence surrounding it with no gate, and the horses embedded and <br />bolted in a slab of concrete 18" thick, covered by mulch; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City exercised its authority to accept donations as a non-profit <br />municipal corporation. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. Accepting the Donation. The City Commission hereby accepts the donation of <br />historical artifact of "Horses and Carriage" made by the Sunny Isles Beach Civic, Cultural and <br />Beautification Trust, Inc., for placement in the southeast comer of the Senator Gwen Margolis <br />Park, located at 178th Drive and North Bay Road, or such other location as may be deemed <br />appropriate by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is authorized to do all things <br />necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br />adoption. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
