<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
<br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
<br />AMENDMENT NO.1 TO CONTRACT NO. 02-08-01, BETWEEN THE CITY
<br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND PIOS & SONS ENTERPRISES, INC., FOR
<br />THE REPAIR OF SIDEWALKS, CURBS AND GUTTERS, IN AN AMOUNT
<br />OF $2,249.05, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING
<br />THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
<br />EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR
<br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City awarded a contract to Pios & Sons Enterprises, Inc., being the most
<br />responsive, responsible bidder for Request for Proposals No. 02-08-01 for repair of sidewalks,
<br />curbs and gutters, on November 14,2002 via Resolution No. 2002-494; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Pios & Sons Enterprises, Inc., was the most responsive, responsible bidder
<br />with a sealed bid of One Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand Dollars ($122,000.00), and the City
<br />added additional curbing work on Collins A venue, bringing the total authorization amount not to
<br />exceed One Hundred Forty-One Thousand, Eight Hundred Fifty-Five Dollars ($141,855.00); and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, hairline cracks in some slab sections had to be replaced that were not in the
<br />initial survey, therefore the City wishes to approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 02-08-01
<br />with Pios & Sons Enterprises, Inc., in an amount of $2,249.05, for a total amount of $144,104.05,
<br />to repair sidewalks, curbs and gutters citywide.

<br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
<br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
<br />
<br />Section 1. Approval of Amendment No.1 to Contract No. 02-08-01. Amendment No.1 to
<br />Contract No. 02-08-01 by and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Pios & Sons
<br />Enterprises, Inc., for repair of sidewalks, curbs and gutters citywide, in an amount of $2,249.05,
<br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor IS hereby authorized to execute said
<br />Amendment No.1 to Contract No. 02-08-01.
<br />
<br />Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
<br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
<br />
<br />Section 4.
<br />
<br />Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
<br />
<br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of March, 2003.
