<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 528 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />AMENDMENT NO.2 TO CONTRACT NO. 02-08-01 BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND PIOS & SONS ENTERPRISES, INC., FOR <br />THE CREATION OF A RIGHT-TURN LANE AT THE INTERSECTION OF <br />KINGS POINT DRIVE (159TH STREET) AND COLLINS AVENUE, IN AN <br />AMOUNT OF FOURTEEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS <br />($14,600.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br />THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City awarded a contract to Pios & Sons Enterprises, Inc., being the most <br />responsive, responsible bidder for Request for Proposals No. 02-08-01 for repair of sidewalks, <br />curbs and gutters, on November 14,2002 via Resolution No. 2002-494; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is now requesting additional work to be performed to install a <br />right-turn lane at Kings Point Drive (159th Street) and Collins Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to approve Amendment No.2 to Contract No. 02-08-01, <br />between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Pios & Sons enterprises, Inc., in the amount of <br />$14,600.00, for a total amount of $158,704.05, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", to create a right- <br />turn lane at the intersection of Kings Point Drive and Collins Avenue. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Amendment No.2 to Contract No. 02-08-01. Amendment No.2 to <br />Contract No. 02-08-01 by and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Pios & Sons <br />Enterprises, Inc., in an amount of $14,600.00, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", for the creation of <br />a right-turn lane at the intersection of Kings Point Drive and Collins Avenue, is hereby approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said <br />Amendment No.2 to Contract No. 02-08-01. <br /> <br />Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms ofthis Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
