<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 5'AQ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 <br />OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />AND THE REDLAND COMPANY, INC. ("REDLAND"), FOR <br />DRIVEWAY RESTORATION OF THE GOLDEN SHORES DRAINAGE <br />IMPROVEMENT AND PAVING PROJECT, IN AN AMOUNT OF FIVE <br />THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-TWO DOLLARS AND <br />THIRTY-SIX CENTS ($5,172.36), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT <br />"A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach publicly advertised Bid No. 01-12-01 - for <br />the Golden Shores Drainage and Paving Project, and awarded the bid to Redland as the lowest <br />responsive, responsible bidder meeting the City's specifications, on February 5, 2002, via <br />Resolution No. 2002-416; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with Redland in an amount of Three <br />Million Four Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-Six Dollars and Fifty-Six <br />Cents ($3,449,896.56); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in maintaining the goodwill of the residents who had to contend with an <br />overwhelming disruption, Redland went that extra mile and restored individual driveways, for an <br />additional amount of$5,172.36; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to approve Amendment No.1 to the Agreement, in an <br />amount of $5,172.36, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", for a total amount of $3,455,068.92, for <br />driveway restoration of the Golden Shores Drainage Improvement and Paving Project. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement. Amendment No. 1 to the <br />Agreement by and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Redland, for the Golden Shores <br />Drainage Improvement and Paving Project, in an amount of $5,172.36, attached hereto as <br />Exhibit "A", be and the same, is hereby approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
