Russo,City Manager4Ql <br /> DATE: June 19,2003 <br /> RE: BRIDGE REVETMENT RESTORATION, AND SEAWALL <br /> REFURBISHMENT AND REPLACEMENT <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution entering into an <br /> agreement with Calvin, Giordano and Associates, Inc. ("Calvin Giordano") for consulting <br /> services for the restoration of the Sunny Isles Bridge Revetment, and refurbishment of the <br /> Atlantic Avenue Seawall and replacement of the 183rd Street Seawall. <br /> REASONS <br /> The Atlantic Avenue Bridge Revetment and the Atlantic Avenue and 183rd Street seawalls are in <br /> need of restoration and/or replacement. This is going to be a very detailed, comprehensive <br /> project and as such, the City is in need of analyses, specifications, bidding, and construction <br /> oversight. In accordance with our current agreement with them, Calvin Giordano has agreed to <br /> undertake this project and has submitted a proposal for services, in the total amount of Sixty- <br /> Three Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($63,325.00), with the scope of services as <br /> outlined in Exhibit"A"(which is inclusive of the items listed within this paragraph). <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> In February 2003, the City Commission qualified Calvin Giordano for General Municipal <br /> Contract Services in response to RFQ No. 02-11-01, with the understanding that projects <br /> exceeding $10,000 would be brought before the Commission for approval (in accordance with <br /> our procurement ordinance).
