Hines c &. ^'� <br /> Acting City Clerk <br /> Date: July 17, 2003 <br /> Re: RESOLUTION CALLING A GENERAL ELECTION, AND RUN-OFF <br /> ELECTION, IF NECESSARY, AND DESIGNATING TWO REGISTERED <br /> VOTERS TO SERVE ON THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR THOSE <br /> ELECTIONS <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution. <br /> REASONS: <br /> It is requested that the City Commission designate "two registered voters" who shall serve with <br /> the City Clerk as the Canvassing Board for the upcoming General Election. It is recommended <br /> that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution which provides for a General Election on <br /> September 9, 2003, and if necessary, a run-off election on October 14, 2003. <br /> This resolution complies with the requirements of conducting a General Election, and if <br /> necessary, a run-off election, pursuant to City Ordinances Numbers 99-65, 2001-124, and 2003- <br /> 170, the City Commission must designate two registered voters to serve on the Canvassing <br /> Board of these specific elections. The registered voters who would serve on the Canvassing <br /> Board should be willing to remain neutral during the upcoming campaign process. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> Please note that the qualifying period for official candidates ends at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July <br /> 17, 2003.
