<br />E. Insulation: Separate all ferrous and non-ferrous metals with non-conducive <br />gaskets to prevent electrolysis. In addition, to gaskets, provide stainless ~l <br />fasteners for same case. <br /> <br />2.02 FINISHING MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Clear Sealers: As required of highest quality available, applied per <br />manufacturer's specifications: Crystal Clear Polyurethane Sealer. <br /> <br />2.03 FABRICATION OF SIGNS AND SUPPORTS <br /> <br />A. General: Provide custom manufactured sign assemblies and components <br />completely fabricated and finished at factory before delivery to site. Construct to <br />accurate detail and dimensions as shown and as reviewed on shop drawings. Fit <br />and assemble the Work at the shop to the greatest extent possible, and mark the <br />components as required to facilitate assembly during installati~n. Exposed <br />fasteners on finished faces will 'not be allowed, unless specifically indicated. <br />Waviness and oil canning of surfaces is not acceptable. Minimum material <br />thickness is to be 0.2S inches unless otherwise noted or accepted by <br />CONSULTANT. <br /> <br />B. Lettering: Letterfonnshaving rounded positive and negative comers, nicked, cut, <br />or ragged edges are not acceptable. Align letter forms to maintain a baseline <br />parallel to the sign format. Maintain margins as indicated on Drawings. <br /> <br />C. Seams and Joints: Weldedjoints shall be ground filled and fmished flush and <br />smooth with adjacent Work. Such seams shall be invisible after fmal finish has <br />been applied. Spot welded joints shall not be visible on exterior of signs or bus <br />shelters after final finish has been applied. No gaps, light leaks, waves, or oil <br />canning will be permitted in Work. <br /> <br />D. Metal Signs: Fabricate exposed surfaces uniformly flat and smooth, without <br />distortion, pitting, or other blemishes. Fonn exposed metal edges to a smooth <br />radius. Grind exposed welds and rough areas to make flush with adjacent smooth <br />surfaces. <br /> <br />1. Welding: Make welds continuous. Comply with American Welding <br />Society, Aluminum Association, and Copper Development Association <br />standards for the type of metal. Provide the alloy and type required for <br />strength, workability, compatibility and color match after grinding smooth <br />and finishing the fabricated product. <br /> <br />2.
