Russo,City Manager �I'I IL <br /> DATE: July 17, 2003 `-� <br /> RE: BID AWARD-ENTRANCEWAY SIGNAGE <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution awarding a bid to and <br /> entering an agreement with International Sign and Design Corp. for the entranceway signage. <br /> REASONS <br /> In February 2002 the City of Sunny Isles Beach commissioned O'Leary Design Associates, P.A. <br /> ("O'Leary") for professional services associated with signage and graphic design, inclusive of <br /> bid preparation. O'Leary prepared and the City issued RFP No. 03-04-01 Entranceway Signage <br /> in April 2003. Five responses were received and reviewed by a committee. The proposal from <br /> International Sign and Design Corp. was deemed the lowest most responsive, responsible bidder. <br /> (The committee deemed the lowest priced bid as non-responsive as they attached terms and <br /> conditions other than those stipulated in the bid form). As such, staff recommends the <br /> Entranceway Signage Bid be awarded to International Sign and Design Corp., and that we enter <br /> into the agreement for services attached hereto as Exhibit "A", in the amount of Seventy-Seven <br /> Thousand Fifty-Three Dollars ($77,053.00). <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> Entranceway signage will convey to residents and visitors, especially, that they are entering the <br /> City of Sunny Isles Beach and make a positive statement and assist with our efforts to identify <br /> the City and foster community pride. These signs will be placed at the four (4) primary <br /> entrances to the City - Collins Avenue north, Collins Avenue south, Sunny Isles Boulevard, and <br /> the William Lehman Causeway <br /> CJR/pw <br /> Signage Award 01 aid:\panda'kmo <br />
