Steers,Code Enforcement and Licensing Director <br /> Date: September 18,2003 <br /> Re: Approval of Agreement with Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. for <br /> Resident Only Parking Project: Surveying, Engineering, Design, and <br /> Construction Inspection Services. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution: approving an <br /> agreement with Calvin, Giordano &Associates, Inc. (CGA) for Surveying, Engineering,Design, and <br /> Construction Inspection Services that shall be performed for the Resident Only Parking adjacent to <br /> the City's Passive and Active Parks on North Bay Road. <br /> REASONS <br /> The City Commission, City Manager, and staff are moving forward to create pedestrian friendly on- <br /> street parking that accommodates our residents, and provides park access for all residents regardless <br /> of where they live within the City. The planned improvements to some of the City's transit-related <br /> infrastructure associated with this project will further enhance the City, and help meet some of the <br /> parking needs of our citizens. The resulting improvements will also accommodate our tourists and <br /> visitors by establishing and/or improving transit-related infrastructure including signage and <br /> pavement markings creating clearly delineated on-street parking areas. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: . <br /> The overall concept was previously approved by the City Commission In March of 2003 and the <br /> related ordinance passed first reading at the July 17,2003 Commission Meeting. <br /> Attachment. <br /> Agenda Item <br /> Date 9-18-03 <br />
