<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004- ,,(. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2004-644, <br />ESTABLISHING FIVE ADVISORY COMMITTEES; PROVIDING FOR A <br />REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor wishes to set forth additional revisions and clarifications to the <br />establishment of the advisory committees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 7 of the Repealer Clause was intended to dissolve only previously <br />approved committees that are not continuing and so continuing committees must be enumerated; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Committee Actions Advisory Only: The actions, decisions and recommendations of <br />the Advisory Committees established by Resolution Nos. 2004-644 and 2004-648 are advisory only <br />and shall not be final or binding on the City Commission. <br /> <br />Section 2. Compensation. Members shall serve without compensation and reimbursement for <br />out-of-pocket expenses must be previously approved and specifically authorized by the City <br />Manager. <br /> <br />Section 3. Minutes of the Committee. As each committee is subject to Florida Sunshine and <br />Public Records Laws, minutes shall be kept by one ofthe committee members at each meeting and <br />shall be a record of the official discussions and/or actions taken by the committee. Approved <br />minutes of each meeting shall be filed with the City Clerk within 10 days of the date ofthe meeting <br />at which they were so approved. <br /> <br />Section 4. Continuing Committees. Section 7 of Resolution 2004-644 is repealed. The <br />Community Traffic Safety Team & American Disability Act Advisory Committee was, is, and shall <br />continue to be in existence. The Citizen's Planning Advisory Committee shall continue to exist as <br />needed. Neither is affected by the Mayor's Advisory Council except as set forth in Section 5 <br />hereinbelow. <br /> <br />Section 5. Revisions to the Health. Safety and Welfare and Transportation and Traffic Control <br />Committees. The Health, Safety and Welfare Committee shall be renamed the Health and Welfare <br />Committee and its mission and tasks shall be formulated accordingly. The Transportation and Traffic <br />Control Committee shall be renamed the Traffic and Safety Committee and shall address all <br />community safety issues including traffic except to the extent such traffic issues are already within <br />the jurisdiction of the Community Traffic Safety Team and American Disability Act Advisory <br />Committee ("CTST ADA Committee"). In that event, the Traffic and Safety Committee will <br />coordinate with the CTST ADA Committee and they may decide to hold joint meetings or merge the <br />two Committees after a vote by a majority of both Committees.
