<br />Category 6 Cabling System <br />Request for Proposal <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />Confidential and Proprietary <br /> <br />5 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />The proposed Cabling System is to be a Category 6 fully compliant & operating system. <br /> <br />5.1 COPPER BACKBONE CABLING <br /> <br />Copper backbone cabling shall consist of 100 150 pair Category 5e riser rated copper cable. <br />Contractor will install a total of (100) pairs of copper cable between MPOE 1-022 (demark) & the <br />MDF on the 3rd floor, (100) pairs of copper cable between MPOE 1-022 (demark) & the PD <br />Computer room 2-020 on the 2nd floor, (100) pairs of copper cable between PD Computer room 2- <br />020 & the MDF on the 3rd floor, (50) pairs of copper cable between TELCO CLOSET 2-009 & the <br />MDF on the 3'd floor, (50) pairs of copper cable between TELCO CLOSET 3-009 & the MDF on the <br />3rd floor, (50) pairs of copper cable between TELCO CLOSET 4-009 & the MDF on the 3rd floor, & <br />(50) pairs of copper cable between TELCO CLOSET 1-037 (council chambers) & the MDF on the <br />3rd floor. The Backbone cables will be terminated onto 300 pair 110 termination blocks. The <br />contractor will then install tails from the blocks onto 96 port Cat 5e Patch panels to facilitate patching <br />of extensions by customer Telecom Personnel. Pair terminations will be 1 pair per port on panels. <br />All necessary wire management shall be installed for a complete system. <br /> <br />5.2 CATEGORY 6 HORIZONTAL CABLING <br /> <br />All outlets shall consist of Quad (4) Category 6 Plenum cables installed onto RJ-45 category 6 <br />Outlets. All cable is to be bundled neatly in the ceiling with the use of J-hooks. . All cable will be <br />terminated onto 48 port Patch panels in the appropriate IDF. Yellow patch cables shall be provided <br />for port (4) of every location, of sufficient length to connect to data switch at proposed location (as <br />shown in diagrams - see section 14 of the RFP), Orange patch cables shall be provided for port (3) <br />of every location, of sufficient length to connect to data switch at proposed location (as shown in <br />diagrams - see section 14 of this RFP), <br /> <br />5.3 CLOSET TERMINATION <br /> <br />AIIIDF closets will be fitted with (1) 19"xT Data Racks. All Horizontal cables will terminate onto 48 <br />port Category 6 patch panels. It is the contractor's responsibility to provide sufficient panels & wire <br />management hardware for a complete system. Racks will be equipped with horizontal & vertical <br />cable management as well as ladder rack for a complete system. All racks to be supplied by <br />contractor Cabinets to be provided by Customer. <br /> <br />5.4 WORK AREA <br /> <br />All data outlets shall be supplied with two (2) 10 foot patch category 6 patch cables, one yellow color <br />and one gray color. <br /> <br />5.5 FIBER BACKBONE <br /> <br />Fiber backbone cabling shall consist of 12 strands of multimode (62.5/125 um) plus 6 strands of <br />single mode (9/125 um) fiber. Contractor will install fiber backbone between the PO Computer Room <br />2-020 and the MDF on the 3rd floor, between the telco closet 2-009 and the MDF on the 3m floor, <br />between the telco closet 4-009 and the MDF on the 3'd floor, and between the telco closet 1-037 <br />(council chambers) and the MDF on the 3rd floor. In addition, contractor shall supply fiber patch <br />cables for each endpoint as follows: <br />· Telco closet 4-009: (2) SC-LC 2 meter patch cables <br />· Telco closet 2-009: (2) SC-LC 2 meter patch cables <br />· Telco closet 1-037 : (2) SC-LC 2 meter patch cables <br />· PO Computer Room: (2) SC-LC 2 meter patch cables <br />· MDF : (8) SC-LC 2 meter patch cables <br /> <br />SIB <br />
