<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004- ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS <br />DESIGNEE, TO SIGN ALL REQUIRED CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, <br />AND PURCHASE ORDERS THAT AFFECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY, OR <br />WELFARE OF THE CITY, AND TO TEMPORARILY RENEW EXISTING <br />CONTRACTS WHICH MAY EXPIRE, FOR FORTY-FIVE (45) DAYS, FROM <br />THE LAST COMMISSION MEETING IN JULY 2004, UNTIL THE FIRST <br />REGULAR CITY COMMISSION MEETING IN SEPTEMBER 2004, <br />SUBJECT TO AFTER-THE-FACT RATIFICATION BY THE CITY <br />COMMISSION AT ITS FIRST REGULAR MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 9, <br />2004; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission are not scheduled to meet between July <br />22,2004 and the next regular meeting on September 9,2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to assign certain powers to the City <br />Manager or his Designee, to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that <br />affect the health, safety or welfare of the City, subject to after-the-fact ratification by the City <br />Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there may be existing contracts which may expire and require renewal <br />during the time between the last Commission meeting in July 2004 and the first regular meeting <br />in September 2004 which should receive Commission approval for renewal or for extension <br />period of time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager will report back to the City Commission, at the first <br />regular City Commission meeting on September 9, 2004, seeking after-the-fact ratification of <br />any actions relating to the aforestated authorizations. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authority of City Manager or Designee. The City Manager, or his Designee, is <br />hereby authorized to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the <br />health, safety, or welfare of the City, and to temporarily renew any existing contracts for forty- <br />five (45) days that may be required to be renewed, from the last City Commission meeting on <br />July 22,2004, until the next regular City Commission meeting on September 9,2004, subject to <br />ratification by the City Commission at its first regular meeting on September 9,2004. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
