Arias, Information Technology Director <br /> Date: September 9, 2004 <br /> Re: Resolution for Purchase of Broadcast System <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Itis recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution. <br /> Reasons: <br /> The City requires an advanced broadcasting system in order to meet several new goals established <br /> for the City's public access channel, Channel 20. This resolution will approve the purchase of a new <br /> system which will provide the following capabilities: <br /> • Deliver automated video content <br /> • Create a program schedule <br /> • Provide a backup system,in case of primary system failure <br /> Design Computer Systems Inc. is the only local vendor recommended by the software manufacturer, <br /> and has been awarded contracts through competitive bids by both the City of Port St. Lucie and the <br /> City of Boca Raton. This purchase is thereby exempt from competitive bidding under Article 6 (c) <br /> of Ordinance 2000-101. <br />
