Vera, Zoning Director
Date: November 8, 2004
Re: Furniture contract for proposed City Hall
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the purchase
of office furniture for the Government Center facility located at 18070 Collins Avenue.
REASONS
Herman Miller Corporate Design Choice Inc has provided a quote under the State of Florida
Government Contract for the purchase of office furniture for the proposed Government Center
facility. The City is piggy-backing off from a State contract in order to take advantage of the
discount on the furniture, which averages about 55% of the cost of the furniture. This furniture
was not purchased under the previous approved contract, since the architect and the representative
from Herman Miller were trying to acquire these items locally which could be a substantial reduction
in cost.. The items that were not included in the original proposal were the lobby reception desk, 4th
floor reception desk,4th floor conference room table and the Human Resource training room. .
Agenda Item tO . ^
Date itβ IS-04
