Vera,Zoning Director _ <br /> Date: November 18, 2004 <br /> Re: Additional Architectural,Threshold Services <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission considers the attached resolution authorizing an amendment <br /> to the contact between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc. with respect to <br /> the new Government Center facility located at 18070 Collins Avenue. <br /> REASONS <br /> The City of Sunny Isles Beach entered into a contract with the architectural firm of Spillis Candela & <br /> Partners, Inc. for the design of the proposed City Hall building as well as the Tony Roma's restaurant, <br /> however the scope of the contract for the City Hall changed substantially from the originally <br /> contemplated contract scope. Due to the complexity and the coordination with the Tony Romas <br /> architects, Spillis Candela & Partners spent more time for the construction administration services on the <br /> Tony Romas that they had originally estimated. Therefore, the construction administration amount <br /> allocated for the City Hall project was reduced drastically. Additionally, due to the complexity of the <br /> design for the City Hall, the threshold inspector that was performing the structural inspections has been <br /> on the job doing more inspections than originally estimated. <br /> Spillis Candela & Partners has submitted to the City the amount of the invoices currently owed by the <br /> City for the construction administration and the threshold inspector services. Additionally, they have <br /> submitted the anticipated cost for the remainder of the project. <br /> Agenda Item 10. ]: <br /> Date 11- 18-04 <br />
