Russo,City Manager <br /> DATE: February 10,2005 <br /> RE: AWARD OF BID-GOLDEN SHORES ENTRANCE WALL <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution awarding Invitation to <br /> Bid No. 04-12-02 Golden Shores Entrance Wall to Tenex Enterprises, Inc., 12452 Wiles Road <br /> Coral Springs, Florida 33076. <br /> REASONS <br /> In December 2004 the City issued Invitation to Bid No. 04-12-02 Golden Shores Entrance Wall <br /> for the purpose of securing a contractor to construct an entrance wall around a portion of the <br /> Golden Shores neighborhood. The City received one response to that bid. Our Capital Projects <br /> Management Consultant (Calvin-Giordano and Associates, Inc.) in conjunction with staff has <br /> reviewed that bid and deemed Tenex Enterprises as the sole most responsive, responsible bidder. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> The proposed entrance wall will further two goals of the City - improved aesthetics and <br /> increased safety. The wall will be constructed in a modern style and color that complements the <br /> area. It will serve as a buffer against traffic accidents and noise and as a deterrent to crime. <br /> Our bidding procedures provide for an award of bid in the event of a sole response (only one <br /> responsive bidder) provided the City Manager finds the price submitted is fair and reasonable, <br /> and that other prospective bidder had reasonable opportunity to respond, or there is not adequate <br /> time for re-solicitation. <br /> CJR/pw <br /> Golden Shores Entrance Wall Bid Award Agenda Memo <br />
