Hines ` _ n <br /> City Clerk <br /> Date: July 14, 2005 <br /> Re: A Resolution Designating One Registered Voter to Serve on the Canvassing <br /> Board for the November 8, 2005 General Election, Calling a General Election, <br /> and Run-Off Election, if Necessary <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is requested that the City Commission designate "one registered voter" who shall serve with <br /> the City Manager and the City Clerk, as the Canvassing Board for the upcoming General <br /> Election. It is also recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution which <br /> provides for conducting a General Election on November 8, 2005, and if necessary, a run-off <br /> election on December 6, 2005. <br /> REASONS: <br /> This Resolution provides the required details regarding the conduct of the upcoming General <br /> Election, and if necessary, a run-off election. Pursuant to City Ordinance Numbers 99-65, 2001- <br /> 124, 2003-170, and 2003-176, the City Commission must designate one registered voter to serve <br /> on the Canvassing Board for the General Election. The registered voter who would serve on the <br /> Canvassing Board should be willing to remain neutral during the upcoming process. <br /> Agenda Item 1 01) <br /> Date -D5 <br />
