<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 -830 <br /> <br />~:~:pSOLUTIO~ OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />C}~4.0F SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH SWEEPING CORPORATION OF <br />AMERICA, INC., ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A", <br />FOR STREET SWEEPING SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT <br />TO EXCEED FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($40,000.00) <br />PER YEAR; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE <br />TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of Sunny Isles Beach authorized the purchase of a street <br />sweeper on May 13, 1999 in order to maintain and beautify the various rights-of-way with the City; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the street sweeper is aged and has seen significant down time because of repair <br />and maintenance issues; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Oakland Park, pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. B081302, awarded <br />a bid to Sweeping Corporation of America, Inc. ("Sweeping Corporation of America") to perform <br />street sweeping services at a rate of Twenty-Six Dollars ($26.00) per curb mile; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Oakland Park agreement has a term of two years and has options to <br />extend the agreement for additional two year periods; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City called in Sweeping Corporation of America to perform street sweeping <br />services on a temporary basis from March 1,2005 to May 27,2005 and the company proved to be <br />reliable and responsive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City would like to utilize the provisions of the City of Oakland Park's <br />contract and enter into an agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", with Sweeping Corporation of <br />America, upon the same rate and similar terms and conditions, for a total annual amount not to <br />exceed Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00). <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Agreement. The Agreement between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and <br />Sweeping Corporation of America, Inc. for street sweeping services in an amount not to exceed Forty <br />Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) per year, for two years of service and two year options to extend the <br />agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be, and the same, is hereby approved. <br /> <br />R2005- Agmt w/Sweeping Corporation of America <br />
