Edelcup
Date: October 11, 2005
Re: Contribution to Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor Elementary School After School
Program
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution contributing
$15,000.00 to the Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor Elementary School after school program.
REASONS:
In 1998, the Town of Surfside, Village of Bal Harbour and Town of Bay Harbor Islands created
the Surf-Bal-Bay after school program at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor Elementary School. At that
time the municipalities committed to making an annual donation to subsidize this program.
Upon incorporation, the City of Sunny Isles Beach joined that partnership as many of our
elementary students attend that school. The school has sent the customary letter requesting our
donation, which has been set at$15,000.00 for each municipality.
Agenda Item
Date
