<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005- <(3 'X:> <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING <br />A MOTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION TO WAIVE ANY <br />AND ALL CITY BUILDING PERMIT FEES FOR <br />PROPERTY OWNERS FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS DUE <br />TO HURRICANE WILMA FOR A SIX MONTH PERIOD; <br />AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO DO <br />ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on Wednesday, October 26,2005, the City Commission held an Emergency <br />Commission Meeting to address the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at that Emergency Meeting the City Commission stated their desire to <br />waive any and all City building permit fees for homeowners for emergency repairs due to <br />damage from Hurricane Wilma; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this waiver affects only those building permit fees and costs of the City, but <br />does not include those associated with any other entity, such as the County or State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolution seeks to formalize and clarify the intentions and actions <br />verbalized by the City Commission at the Emergency Meeting of October 26, 2005, with respect <br />to the waiving of building permit fees for emergency repairs due to Hurricane Wilma for a six <br />month period. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section I. Waiving of Building Permit Fees. The City Commission hereby waives any and <br />all City building permit fees and costs for property owners for emergency repairs due to <br />Hurricane Wilma for a six month period. This waiver shall end on April 26, 2006. However, <br />property owners shall be responsible for any and all permit fees and costs associated with any <br />other government entity, such as the State or County. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authority of City Mana~er. The Interim City Manager is hereby authorized to do <br />all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
