Edelcup /Jllyr
Date: November 17, 2005
Re: Resolution Opposing Any Extension to the Urban Development Boundary
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution opposing any
extension to the Urban Development Boundary.
REASONS:
The Urban Environment League has asked the City of Sunny Isles Beach to join them in
supporting the campaign to stop the movement of the Urban Development Boundary line. Other
municipalities that have already adopted resolutions in support of this campaign are Aventura,
Bay Harbor Islands, Miami Beach, North Miami, North Miami Beach, and Surfside to name a
few.
The campaign asks officials to consider the needs of all people when planning the future of the
community, feeling that it is premature to move the Urban Development Boundary before
finding solutions to our already overburdened infrastructure, including roadways, transportation,
housing, schools, parks, and water needs.
Agenda Item f OG
Date II- 17 -05
