Grandinetti, Captain <br /> Date: November 17,2005 <br /> Subject: Authorization to Apply For, Receive and Expend Grant Money from the <br /> Miami-Dade County, Federal Drug Control and System Improvement <br /> Program (Byrne Grant) for a "Criminal Justice Records Improvement <br /> Project". <br /> Recommendation: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission approve a Resolution authorizing the <br /> City Manager to apply for, receive, and expend monies from the Miami-Dade <br /> County Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program (Byrne Grant) in <br /> the amount of $7,808.00 (75% Grant Award of $5,856.00 and 25% in Matching <br /> Funds =$1,952.00); further authorizing the City Manager to do all things necessary; <br /> to provide matching funds as may be required; providing for an effective date. <br /> Reason: <br /> The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given preliminary <br /> approval of grant funds totaling $7,808.00 (75% Federal Grant Funds = $ 5,856.00 <br /> and 25% Matching Funds=$ 1,952.00) in order to supplement overtime to continue <br /> our forwards progress on a"Criminal Justice Records Improvement Project". <br /> Additional Information: <br /> The police department will continue working on a "Criminal Justice Records <br /> Improvement Project" in order to develop a more useful and efficient records <br /> storage system that will enable the records unit to provide a faster and better service <br /> to our citizens requesting police records. <br /> Agenda Item I 0 N <br /> Date I H i rt - 05 <br />
