Watts, DirectoG~ <br />Public Works Departme ) <br /> <br />May 18, 2006 <br /> <br />PURa-IASE OF VEHICI.ES & EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the commission ratify the purchase of fifteen vehicles at a cost <br />of$289,098.00 and their associated equipment at $55,481.91, for a total of $344,579.91.00. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br />The large number of vehicles is because they 'Will be utilized by five separate departments. All of the <br />units require light bars on top and other miscellaneous equipment. The reason the vehicles were <br />ordered at one time is due to fleet management now taking responsibility for ordering aty 'Wide. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />Funds for these vehicles were budgeted as follows; (10) Police vehicles 10-521-5642, (2) Code <br />Enforcement vehicles 10-524-5642, (2) Public Works vehicles 10-539-5642 and (1) Building <br />Department vehicle 10-515-5642. <br /> <br />As these vehicles are put in service, the old units will be removed, stripped and auctioned off. <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />Date <br />
