John Szerlag, City Manager '\ \ \ Susan Simpson, Cultural & Human Services Direc~ June 15, 2006 Approval of Painting of Existing Buses by Atlantic Bus Sales, Inc. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approvmg the painting of the City's three (3) existing shuttle buses, by Atlantic Bus Sales. REASONS: On March 16, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-906 approving "light blue" as the new base color for the City's shuttle bus fleet. The official color code is "LN" Light Blue Effect. Further, the City Commission expressed its intent that any and all new or existing shuttle buses be painted in the new base color. As such, staff contacted Atlantic Bus Sales and requested the buses on order, which were approved for purchase via Resolution 2006-884, be painted in the new base color. In an effort to maintain a uniform look for the fleet, staff recommends the three (3) existing shuttle buses be painted by Atlantic Bus Sales, also. Atlantic Bus Sales has submitted a quote for the painting of the three (3) existing shuttle buses, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($24,900.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: After the buses are painted, they will go to Bob's Signs for "striping" and graphics.
