John Szerlag, City Manager C1 <br />Susan Simpson, Cultural & Human Services Dire~ <br /> <br />June 15, 2006 <br /> <br />Approval of Special Inspector and Threshold Inspector Services Agreement with <br />Nutting Environmental <br /> <br />RECOMMENDA TION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approving an agreement <br />with Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc. ("Nutting") for inspection services for the Active Park. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />During the permitting process, Miami-Dade County Fire Department gave the Active Park an <br />increased occupancy designation. As such, the Active Park project is required to have inspections <br />made by a threshold inspector. <br /> <br />Recently, Miami-Dade County issued and awarded a Request for Competitive Bids for the provision <br />of professional testing of soils, foundations, and materials for Project Number E03-PW-05 to Nutting <br />Engineers of Florida, Inc. Staff has contacted Nutting regarding the provision of such services for <br />the Active Park, and they have agreed to undertake this project. Further, Nutting has agreed to let the <br />City piggyback the County's Agreement, and has submitted a proposal for construction materials <br />testing and special/threshold inspection services, in an estimated amount not to exceed Thirty <br />Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> <br />The City's procurement code provides that purchases made under state, county, or other <br />governmental contracts or competitive bids with other governmental agencies are exempt from the <br />City's competitive bidding procedures. <br /> <br />SS/pw <br /> <br />Agenda Item ~ ()G <br />Date 1..0 - \ S ~ 0 to <br />
