C0506-073 <br /> <br />THIS CONSULTANT AGREEMENT made and entered into this 2.\~!ay of ~ <br />2006, by and between the CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, a municipal corporation of <br />the State of Florida, (hereinafter referred as to "City") and THE MERCER GROUP, INC., a Georgia <br />corporation, qualified to do business in Florida, with Corporate Headquarters at 5579 B Chamblee- <br />Dunwoody, Suite 511, Atlanta, Georgia 30338 and a North Carolina office located at 3443 Highway 39 <br />North, Louisburg, North Carolina 27549 (hereinafter referred to as "Consuitant") whose Federal Tax <br />J.D. # is : 58-1877068. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City contracted with the Consultant 'in 2004 to conduct a <br />CompensationlMarket Study and to review the City's job reclassification process; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a result of its 2004 study, the Consultant recommended that the City consider <br />adopting a classification system which would be more sensitive to internal equity among positions, the <br />type of classification system typically found in local governments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the classification system currently used by the City IS a market sensitive <br />classification system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, except for positions covered by the Sworn Officer Pay Plan, the City desires to <br />conduct a comprehensive compensation/classification study for all full-time employees and to develop <br />and implement a performance evaluation system for all full-time employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Consultant has submitted a proposal to the City for these services in an amount not <br />to exceed Eighteen Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($18,750.00); and attached hereto as <br />Attachment "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Consultant is qualified, willing and able to provide the desired services on the <br />terms and conditions set forth herein and the project will be conducted by its North Carolina branch, <br />which specializes in Compensation and Classification Studies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to contract with Consultant to conduct a comprehensive <br />compensation/classification study, and develop and implement a performance evaluation system for the <br />City as outlined in Consultant's proposal. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and the mutual covenants herein <br />named, the parties hereto agree as set forth below: <br /> <br />1.
