John SzerIag, City Mana r <br /> <br /> <br />TO: The Honorable City Comm. .0 <br /> <br />DATE: February 15,2007 <br /> <br />RE: RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD ENGINEERING SERVICES TO <br />CALVIN, GIORDANO & ASSOCIATES FOR THE PROPOSED ATLANTIC <br />AVENUE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT PROJECT <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve an agreement with Calvin, Giordano & <br />Associates to provide engineering services for the design of the proposed Special Assessment Project <br />on Atlantic Avenue; specifically, the sanitary sewer collection system, drainage improvements, road <br />reconstruction/resurfacing, and street lighting. <br /> <br />On December 21, 2006 the City issued an RFQ for Engineering Services for the above referenced <br />project. The following firms responded and were granted an interview: <br /> <br />~ Calvin, Giordano & Associates <br />~ Marlin Engineering, Inc. <br />~ Chen Associates <br />~ Civil Works, Inc. <br />~ CES Consultants, Inc. <br /> <br />My recommendation to select Calvin, Giordano & Associates is predicated on the RFQ's, subsequent <br />interviews, and their fee quotation for the work which was the lowest received. If approved, the <br />contract price will be in an amount not to exceed $242,402.00 and payments will be made on an <br />hourly basis in accordance with the engineer's rate schedule. <br /> <br />As always, I'll be happy to respond to any comments or questions you may have. <br /> <br />AJS/iw <br /> <br />cc: Jorge L.
