John Szerlag, City Manager <br /> <br />Jorge Vera, Assistant City Manager Ji <br />Rick Conner, Director of Public works/lc' <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />June 21, 2007 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Contract for Construction Management on Sunny Isles Boulevard <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />We recommend authorizing the Mayor to execute a contact with Marlin Engineering <br />for Construction Management on the Sunny Isles Boulevard Project in an amount not <br />to exceed $84,272.39, <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This contract for Construction Management will include among other things, the work <br />necessary to finalize the bid award documents, authorize the NTP, respond to RFls, <br />and supervise the work of the other consultants. We had anticipated the need for <br />these services (and their associated costs) from the beginning. The original design <br />contracts for this project were unusually developed and did not include these <br />services, though they should have. We are therefore now asking to move forward <br />with the project and put it on the proper track to insure proper and timely completion. <br /> <br />Funds are available in CIP Account 20-600-5622. <br /> <br />Cif)' COl1ll1li.Lrio/l <br />Norman S.
