John Szerlag, City Manager <br /> <br />\j'/VIlY <br /> <br />Douglas Haag, Assistant City Manager-Finance <br /> <br />DATE: December 13,2007 <br /> <br />RE: BUDGET AMENDMENTS - CONSULTING SERVICES <br /> <br />RECOMMENDA TION: <br />Upon approval of the proposals for Engineering firms (Agenda Item 10F - RFQ No. 07007-01), <br />Architectural firms (Agenda Item lOG - RFQ No. 07-07-02) and Planning consultants (Agenda <br />Item 10H) we are requesting approyal of the attached budget amendment resolution. The <br />resolution approves the transfer of sjoO,OOO from Capital Fund Contingency (20-600-5990) to <br />Capital Fund Consulting Services (20-600-5313). <br /> <br />These funds will be used for consulting services for new projects not currently in the budget _ <br />the fishing pier, promenade, Atlantic Isle bridge, various grant application prerequisites, etc. <br /> <br />Also, in regards to the procurement process for use of these funds, we are proposing continuance <br />of a similar methodology to that was adopted earlier this year for Calvin Giordano & Associates <br />(See Agenda Item 10M, Regular Commission Meeting January 18, 2007). We propose as <br />follows: <br /> <br />The resolutions for agenda items allow the City to enter into a general contract with each of the <br />approved vendors for engineering, architectural and pl,anning services on an as needed basis. <br />The blanket authority for these services is limited to ~OO,OOO. As the need arises for specific <br />projects and services (i.e. cost estimates for Bella Vista Bay Park improvements for grant <br />purposes) the City Manager is then authorized to spend up to $20,000 per project, based on <br />proposals from the list of qualified preapproved consultants.
