<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-11.9-1.\ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />APPROVING CERTAIN APPOINTMENTS TO THE <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEES (WHICH COMPRISE THE <br />MAYOR'S ADVISORY COUNCIL) FOR THE <br />CALENDAR YEAR 2008, AS MORE SPECIFICALLY <br />OUTLINED IN EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 74-8 of the Code provides that there shall be as many standing <br />committees of the City Commission as the Mayor or City Commission deems necessary and that <br />the City Commission may establish or terminate such Committees from time to time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 74-8 also provides that the Mayor shall appoint the Chairperson, <br />and Vice Chairperson of each committees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 74-8 further provides that each Commissioner shall appoint one <br />member to each Committee and that the Mayor shall select the Commissioner to appoint the <br />additional member (for each committee); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, further, the Code provides that the City's advisory committees shall consist <br />of seven members who are appointed for one-year terms, commencing January 1 and ending <br />December 31 of each year, which may be renewed by the City Commission as often as desirable; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Committee members shall be governed by the terms of Resolution Nos. <br />2004-644 and 2004-666, the Rules of Procedure that govern the City Commission, and the <br />Florida Sunshine and Public Records Laws; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, via Resolution No. 2007-_ the City Commission created and continued <br />the following advisory committees: (1) Community Awareness; (2) Long Range Planning and <br />Intergovernmental Relations; (3) Tourism and Development; and (4) Education/Schools; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to make the following advisory committee <br />appointments, as outlined in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, for calendar year 2008. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Advisory Committee Appointments.
