Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to modify, alter <br />and convert existing structures as shown or specified and as required for the <br />installation of new mechanical equipment, piping and appurtenances. Work shall <br />be performed within the requirements of Special Project Procedures in Section <br />01030 and required Construction Scheduling in Section 01310. Existing piping <br />and equipment shall be removed and dismantled as necessary for the <br />performance of structural alterations in accordance with the requirements herein <br />specified. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK <br />A. Section 01045: Cutting and Patching <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS (Not Used) <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. The Contractor shall cut, repair, reuse, excavate, demolish or otherwise remove <br />parts of the existing structures or appurtenances, as indicated on the Contract <br />Drawings, herein specified, or necessary to permit completion of the work under <br />this Contract. <br />B. Blasting with explosives will not be permitted to complete any work under this <br />Contract. Care shall be taken not to damage any part of existing buildings, <br />foundations and exterior structures both below and above ground. <br />C. No existing structure, equipment, or appurtenance shall be shifted, cut, removed, <br />or otherwise altered except with the express approval of and to the extent <br />approved by the Engineer. <br />D. Materials and equipment removed in the course of making alterations and <br />additions shall remain the property of the Owner, except that items not <br />salvageable, as determined by the Engineer and the Owner shall become the <br />property of the Contractor to be disposed of by him off the site of the work at his <br />own place of disposal. <br />E. All work of altering existing structures shall be done at such time and in such <br />manner as will comply with the approved time schedule.
