The cost of disposal of <br />material (including hauling) shall be considered a subsidiary obligation of the <br />Contractor, the cost of which shall be included in the contract prices. <br />3.05 PRESERVATION OF TREES <br />A. The Contractor shall erect such barricades, guards, and enclosures as may be <br />considered necessary by him for the protection of all trees during all construction <br />operations. Refer to Section 01532 -2 for specifications. <br />B. Paint, oil solvents, asphalt, concrete, mortar, and other tree contaminants shall not <br />be used or stored within the tree dripline. <br />C. All tree trimming to facilitate construction shall be performed. to the National <br />Arborist Association (NAA) standards by a certified tree company. <br />D. Any tree that is destructively damaged, destroyed, or cut down as a result of this <br />construction shall be replaced at an inch to inch diameter. The minimum tree <br />replacement shall be a two -inch diameter and ten foot high Florida Grade #1 or <br />better tree. The Department of Development Administration shall be consulted as <br />to the type of tree. <br />E. The Contractor shall exercise all necessary precautions so as not to damage or <br />destroy any trees or shrubs, including those lying within street rights -of -way and <br />project limits, and shall not trim or remove any trees unless such trees have been <br />approved for trimming or removal by the jurisdictional agency or City. The <br />Contractor shall notify the jurisdictional agency and /or the City if any tree is <br />damaged by the Contractor's operations. If, in the opinion of said agency or the <br />City, the damage is such that replacement is necessary, the Contractor shall <br />replace the tree at his own expense as directed by the City. <br />END OF SECTION <br />06/07 02100 -2 03 -4197 <br />
