PROJECT OWNER
Miami-Dade Park & Recreation
Department
24. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)

Working from an approved
General Plan provided by the
Park and Recreation Department,
EDAW prepared design
development plans and
construction documents for a
new neighborhood park in
suburban Miami.

@
A0
VW

The $0.85 million first phase,
currently under construction,
includes a new parking area and
site infrastructure, landscaping,
signage, walking paths, a
playground and site furnishings.
The pathway layout and
placement of amenities take
advantage of the site's
topography - a rarity in southern
Florida, which has been strongly
accentuated in the grading
design - to add variety and
interest to the park's visual quality and the walker's experience. Landscape materials are primarily native, and designed to survive
and even thrive with minimal maintenance and no permanent irrigation.

Construction is proceeding smoothly and completion of the first phase is expected within 6 months of contract award.

25.
