BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br /> <br />Working from an approved <br />General Plan provided by the <br />Park and Recreation Department, <br />EDAW prepared design <br />development plans and <br />construction documents for a <br />new neighborhood park in <br />suburban Miami. <br /> <br /> <br />@ <br />A0 <br />VW <br /> <br />The $0.85 million first phase, <br />currently under construction, <br />includes a new parking area and <br />site infrastructure, landscaping, <br />signage, walking paths, a <br />playground and site furnishings. <br />The pathway layout and <br />placement of amenities take <br />advantage of the site's <br />topography - a rarity in southern <br />Florida, which has been strongly <br />accentuated in the grading <br />design - to add variety and <br />interest to the park's visual quality and the walker's experience. Landscape materials are primarily native, and designed to survive <br />and even thrive with minimal maintenance and no permanent irrigation. <br /> <br />Construction is proceeding smoothly and completion of the first phase is expected within 6 months of contract award. <br /> <br />25.
