Douglas Entrance, which first opened in
1986, includes a thirteen story office tower containing 150,000
square feet, a six story executive office building containing
75,000 square feet, more than 35,000 square feet of retail space
for fine specialty shops, restaurants and sidewalk cafes. The
project, designed to complement the original historic structure
with similar Mediterranean-style buildings, will ultimately include
an urban center with high quality office space, a first class
European hotel, residential units and fine shops and restaurants.

Services: Architecture, engineering, master planning

No. of Cars: 1,200 cars, 12 levels

The Colonnade Parking Garage
Coral Gables, Florida

This mixed-use development greatly expands the life and use
of a local historic landmark. Located in the heart of busy
downtown Coral Gables, Spillis Candela DMJM restored the
landmark structure and added new high quality office space,
retail shops, restaurants, a 600-car parking garage and a four-
star all-suite hotel.

A bridge at the second and third levels connects the garage
garage facade is wrapped with sand-colored precast, tinted
and shaped to match the cast-stone panels used in the original
structure, and punctuated with a series of openings which help
to articulate and disguise this building's true function. Above
the garage, a five-story U-shaped building houses a luxury
all-suite hotel.

Services: Architecture, engineering support
No. of Cars: 600 cars, 5 levels

Miami Children's Hospital, Parking Garage No.1
Miami, Florida

Spillis Candela DMJM designed a five-story, 677 car parking
garage to conform to the Miami Children's Hospital Master Plan
which was produced by Spillis Candela DMJM in 1988. Part of
this project was the reorientation and relocation of the existing
on-grade helistop. The precast construction components were
built off-site in order to minimize construction time and maximize
component quality. The main goals of the project team were to
minimize disruption of normal hospital operations and to plan for
a future expansion of up to 1,000 additional cars.

Services: Architecture, engineering

No. of Cars: 677 cars, 5 levels
