<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008- J ~ ~':l <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TEN (10) BUS <br />SHEL TERS AND INTERNAL LIGHTS FROM TOLAR <br />MANUFACTURING COMPANY, INC., PURSUANT TO <br />CITY OF CORAL SPRINGS AGREEMENT #OS-B-136M, IN <br />A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY -EIGHT <br />THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($78,800.00), AS <br />QUOTED AND ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF <br />THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission has expressed a desire to replace the current bus <br />shelters in the City with shelters that are more conducive to the City's Streetscape Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at a previous City Commission meeting staff presented several model bus <br />shelters from which the City Commission could choose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission selected Model #13NADL-VICGL as the preferred <br />bus shelter and the Four-Foot Perforated Metal Benches with privacy bar and no back; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Tolar Manufacturing Company, Inc, ("Tolar") is the sole source vendor of <br />bus shelter Model #13NADL-VICGL; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Tolar has provided a quote for the purchase of ten (10) bus shelters and <br />internal lights, in a total amount not to exceed Seventy-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars <br />($78,800,00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the quote from Tolar utilizes the same pricing, terms, and conditions as <br />City of Coral Springs Agreement #05-B-136M; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's procurement codes provides that purchases made under state, <br />county or other governmental contracts, or competitive bids with other governmental agencies are <br />exempt from the City's competitive bidding procedures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase said bus shelters and internal lights from Tolar. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section I. Authorization of Purchase, The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase <br />of ten (10) bus shelters and internal lights from Tolar Manufacturing Company, Inc" in a total <br />amount not to exceed Seventy-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($78,800,00), as quoted <br /> <br />R2008- Bus Shelter Purchase from Tolar <br /> <br />Page I of2 <br />
